The past 2016 was another very successful year for Roo Brands - producer of raw bio dessert Roobar. Sales in the last year amount to 9.6 million Leva and they come up to 56 % increase from year 2015.
This growth is due to the strengthening of the position of the Roo Brands on the market and the growing interest in production of raw bars for partner companies (private label).
A major share of the sales came from the foreign markets: 5.5 million Leva. In 2016 the raw bars Roobar became part of leading chain stores and supermarkets in central Europe and can be found in DM (Germany), Albert Heijn (Netherlands), Billa and Spar (Austria). The company continues to be a best-seller in lots of bio and organic specialist shops (Denn's, Alnatura, basic), and small local botiques throughout Europe.
Apart from Europe, over the past year Roo Brands made its first steps in Canada, North America and Chile. The company plans to take over several new markets in 2017, mainly in Asia.
The brand performed well in the second largest market for the company- Bulgaria. The main achievement for 2016 is the inclusion of Roobar in the product portfolio of Kaufland and DM.
The growing interest in the production of raw bars for partnering companies from across Europe is another leading indicator of a successful year. Projects for foreign brands have increased by 52 % compared to last year. In 2017 the company plans to put more focus on this part of the business, launching a new website, which will facilitate companies who want to develop raw bars for their own brand. With the help and the expertise of Roo Brands, it will take just a few easy steps.
In September 2016 Roo Brands launched the website www.roobar.com for online sales of the whole portfolio of Roo Brands products (Kurabiinica and Kookie Cat cookies, Roobar and Roobiotic ball). The website serves orders from all over the world and for just 4 months sold products for 49.7 K leva predominantly in Central Europe.
The development of new products and their successful launch is in the DNA of the company, and in 2016 there were two reasons to be proud: new line of vegan cookies Kookie Cat and raw balls Robiotic. Kookie Cat cookies turned into an instant favourite even with their first introduction at trade fairs. Within months they have started selling in several countries in Europe. Their unique recipe (no milk, no eggs and no gluten) in combination with the original design and spirit of the brand is what sets them apart from other products and is the reason for their big success. Roobiotic energy balls is the next new product of the company - raw energy balls with functional foods based on nuts and spiced with Lactobacillus Acidophilus in 6 flavor variations.
Proof of excellence in 2016 were the awards which Roo Brands won: from Forbes Bulgaria Business Awards (2nd place for Product Quality and 3rd place for Business Development) and the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce (2nd place for Small and Medium Enterprises).
"We have had a number of successful projects this past year and we are proud of the results. Roobar wins more supporters throughout the world, and our new products are welcomed with great enthusiasm. We managed to get into a number of shopping sites of modern trade across Europe, with more and more people now having the opportunity to enjoy our products. In 2016, we have increased production in order to meet the growing international interest and we already have 4 lines for the production of raw bars. We are also very proud that we earned the IFS certificate with excellent result: we conformed with almost 97 % of all requirements and regulations. This result is exceptional and very difficult to achieve and is proof of the uncompromising good work of our entire team. The new 2017 comes with interesting new products, moving into our new production facility and new exciting markets to conquer, " shared Kalin Klasanov, COO and Co-Founder of Roo Brands.
